What is WEEE Recycling in 2020

WEEE Background

Electronic devices are an intangible item in humans’ life. All of us use it and non-exaggeratedly speaking, we depend on them for work and life. However, the more we use it, the more waste it creates after its service life.

WEEE (electric and electronic waste) provides recyclers different initiatives for recycling. It includes toxic compounds, such as lead, mercury or specific flame retardants. Also, it includes precious metals such as aluminum, copper, iron, silver and gold. In 2013, approx. 64,000.000 ton digital goods were disposed and 50,000.000 ton electric and electronic waste has been discarded.

Examples of WEEE in Specific?

WEEE is a vast category of waste. Here are some typical items:

  1. Heat exchanger, condenser, evaporator
  2. Monitors, display screen and TV
  3. Lighting, light bulb, LED
  4. Small office and home appliance
  5. Big office and home appliance (greater than 50cm)
  6. Industrial machines
  7. Telecommunications devices and electronic gadgets like iPad
  8. USB, hard disk, bank e-keys

WEEE Recycling System in Short

Since the amount of marketed digital products rise, the amount of WEEE increases. It’s crucial that e-waste is well-taken care of correctly and efficiently. The WEEE Recycling Line of Wiscon Envirotech complies with EU’s WEEE Directive Annex 1B. We provide recycling plants with capacities that range from 700-7000 kg/production hour.

According to customers’ needs, we tailor to design a system that solves their problems. Besides, we focus on yield and power consumption, reaching the highest productivity. As we know, metal loss, noise, low purity are 3 major problems in WEEE recycling system. Therefore, we have excellent pre-shredder and shredder, noise-insulation housing and cutting-edge metal separation system, respectively.

End Product of WEEE Recycling System

By using our recycling line, we are able to get a different percentage of ferrous and non-ferrous and plastics. Various percents of non-ferrous metals (silver, gold, aluminum, copper, brass) and of steel and stainless steel are obtained. The final products are smaller than 20 by 20mm. Soft and hard plastics can also be distinguished by colours and characteristics.
